Operate beyond the radio horizon
Satellite control, multi-stream video and telemetry for unmanned systems.
StarGate is a Lab 254 satellite communication system for unmanned platforms. It carries remote control, telemetry and multiple video streams over Starlink or cellular networks (5G / 4G / LTE) — so the operator can be at any distance from the platform, with minimal latency.

Beyond radio horizon
Range set by the satellite link — not by line of sight
A conventional control link for an unmanned system is bound by radio range and the radio horizon. Once the platform drops below it, the operator loses video and control.
StarGate uses the Starlink satellite network to build a two-way channel between the unmanned platform and a remote operator. The platform can work far from the ground station — with no need to hold a direct radio link between operator and drone. Where cellular coverage is available, the same channel can also run over 5G, 4G or LTE.
The signal goes up to one satellite, travels across the satellite network and comes down from another. That is why the distance between operator and platform is not limited.
Direct radio link
- Range limited by the radio horizon and terrain
- Operator must stay close to the platform
- Relays needed to extend reach
StarGate
- Two-way link through the satellite network
- Operator can be at any distance
- No direct radio link to the drone required
What StarGate carries
One link. Multiple video streams. Full control.
Control
Remote control
Command the unmanned platform over the StarGate link.
Telemetry
Real-time telemetry
Flight and system telemetry delivered to the operator in real time.
Multi-camera video
Several streams at once
Connect multiple cameras and transmit several video streams simultaneously.
Low-latency connection
Minimal delay
The system architecture is optimized to minimize video and command latency.
Platforms
One system. Multiple platforms.
StarGate is built as a universal system that integrates with different types of unmanned platforms. One communication architecture across the fleet — no separate remote-control system for each vehicle type.
Multirotor UAV
Quadcopters and multirotors
Quadcopters and other multirotor platforms.
Fixed-wing UAV
Fixed-wing aircraft
Aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
UGV
Ground robotic systems
Unmanned ground vehicles and robotic complexes.
Terminal guidance
From satellite link to target lock
On air platforms, StarGate can work together with Tracer — the automatic terminal-guidance technology developed by Lab 254.
The operator flies the platform, receives video and selects the target over the StarGate link. Once the target is locked, terminal guidance can hold the track through the final phase of flight.
- 01 Satellite control Flight, video and target selection over Starlink or 5G / 4G / LTE
- 02 Target lock The operator selects and locks the target
- 03 Terminal guidance Tracking is held automatically in the final phase
